Oli Kids Co. was founded by a mother–daughter duo with a shared love of storytelling, learning, and childhood imagination.
The books and learning tools are created by Lauryn Alyssa Wendus and Lois Wendus, whose collaborative work forms the heart of Oli Kids Co. Together, they have developed children’s books, early literacy resources, and playful characters designed to support learning and joy.
Their work is inspired by a family line of storytellers and educators and a deep appreciation for childhood creativity. Both Lauryn and Lois are descendants of early 20th-century children’s author and illustrator Charlotte Steiner, whose work celebrated imagination, curiosity, and the inner world of children.
As Oli Kids Co. has grown, its world of characters has expanded beyond the original Adventures of Oliver Poons series. New titles, including A Strawberry Valentine Story, introduce additional characters and seasonal stories designed to celebrate connection, small moments, and childhood traditions.
Lois brings a background in education and reading instruction to the work and continues to teach children to read through her tutoring business, Leaps in Learning, supporting students in building confidence and a love of reading. She is also the author of Oli Kids Co.’s beginning reading program A Good Start Reading.
Over time, the characters of Oli Kids Co. have grown beyond the pages of their books, appearing on pillows, blankets, games, accessories—and even inspiring their own song.
At its heart, Oli Kids Co. is about creating meaningful, imaginative experiences for children—stories and tools that invite connection, curiosity, and joy.
